Sometimes people have a hard time differentiating Martin's voice in Depeche Mode songs. Here's a list of DM songs on which Martin sings the lead vocal:
Besides these songs, Martin sings a duet with Dave on several songs, notably "Here is the House", "Behind the Wheel", and "Waiting for the Night".

This short collection of cover tunes is pretty interesting. The production is pretty bare-bones, but sounds a lot like Depeche Mode (big surprise). My favorite song is "Never Turn Your Back on Mother Earth". His version of the African-American traditional "Motherless Child" is interesting. I wonder what African-Americans think of it.
I'm trying to track down the original artists that performed these songs. If you can help me fill in any of the blanks, please e-mail me.

Here's an odd recording of Martin Gore sitting down at a piano in a bar in Cologne sometime in 1997. With some friends, he runs through a bunch of songs, including The Rolling Stones' "Ruby Tuesday", Elvis Presley's "Crying in the Chapel", The Velvet Underground's "Femme Fatale", Abba's "Mamma Mia", Jerry Lee Lewis's "Great Balls of Fire", OMD's Electricity, The Doors' "Light My Fire", Oasis's "Wonderwall", and The Sex Pistols' "God Save the Queen". Other songs inlcude "Coming Back to You", the Leonard Cohen song Martin recorded later for a tribute album, "Queer", the Garbage song that Martin remixed, and the Depeche Mode song "Sometimes". It sounds like a great recording, but Martin doesn't really know most of the songs that well, and most of the tracks end up being short and confused. It is kind of fun to listen to the spontaneous jam, however.
I have seen other versions of this recording listed on the internet with the track "A Question of Lust" at the end. Unfortunately, this version does ends with "Sometimes".
